Well, today was the first day of school. Normally our parents would wake us, we would get dressed, eat breakfast, and be out the door headed to school. We would be so excited to see our friends again after summer break. Our mom and dad would walk us to the door, take the infamous “first day of school” pic and be on their way. Here’s one from 5 years ago. Weren’t we cute?!? 
Anyway, as we would march into our school, you would hear laughter and see smiles as everyone is reunited again.
Enter 2020.
Today, our parents did wake us. We did get dressed and eat breakfast. But instead of heading to school, we are headed to my parents office to have school virtually. This year was supposed to be extra exciting for me in particular because I am starting middle school. I was so looking forward to having a locker, but oh well. There is always a bright side. Even though our first day wasn’t “normal,” it was good. Our parents decorated our work area with motivational sayings and bright colors and wait for it….. WE DON’T HAVE TO WEAR UNIFORMS!!!
On a more serious note, today was a good day!
